Bacxitium - your new addition to the first aid kit! But how does it work?
It almost sounds too good to be true, so we at MyPetPassion have tested the products and investigated what they consist of. So what ingredients are they talking about and how do they work?
What is hypochlorous acid?
Bacxitium consists of hypochlorous acid also called Eca water, electrolysis water, Bright Water, HOCI - dear child has many names.
It is formed from common household salt (NaCl) and water (H2O), which is electrolyzed and converted into hypochlorous acid.
Hypochlorous acids are an important part of our innate immune system and are found in macrophages as an endogenous substance (a substance that comes from within the cells themselves). It is formed and released during the breakdown of bacteria, viruses, spores and fungi. Bacxitium only reacts against unicellular microorganisms and not larger cell structures, it is therefore not harmful against anything other than bacteria, viruses, spores and fungi.
Bacxitium's hypotonic solution ensures that small holes are made in the cells, allowing water to enter the cell. As the salt content is high inside the cell, water flows into the cells to balance the osmotic pressure (pressure inside and outside the cell). This causes osmolysis, which means that the inflowing water increases the internal pressure and the cells burst.
hypochlorous acid has a neutral pH value and is therefore safe to work with. Due to the lack of electrical charge, hypochlorous acid is better able to penetrate cell walls and neutralize microorganisms. The hypochlorous acid is estimated to be up to 50 times more effective than sodium hypochlorite (traditional chlorine-based disinfection).
A faster and more effective killing of microorganisms is achieved at a much lower concentration than with disinfection with ordinary sodium hypochlorite (traditional chlorine-based disinfection).
it smells a little like chlorine.....
but it is not chlorine! The smell of chlorine comes because hypochlorous acid is related to chlorine. It is also this smell that you find in several countries, around the world, when you turn on the tap. This is because hypochlorous acid is also used for water purification and you have most likely drunk it yourself several times.
How well does hypochlorous acid work?
Countless reports have been made on the effectiveness of hypochlorous acid/active chlorine in Denmark and internationally. The Danish Technological Institute has carried out a quantitative suspension test to assess the bactericidal effect. In this experiment, 5 different types of bacteria were tested, including Listeria monocytogenes and Escherichia coli. The test was carried out with 200 ppm and 400 ppm with a contact time of 5 min. All the results showed that it was possible to achieve a minimum of a Log5 reduction for all 5 bacteria. This means 99.999% of all bacteria were killed. Hereby, it can be established that hypochlorous acid is very suitable for reducing the number of bacteria. Bacxitrium's products are made at 500 ppm and are thus even more powerful.
However, one must be aware that it is both the bad and the good bacteria that are affected. It is therefore important to remember to take care not to overconsume bacxitium so that the body's natural bacterial flora can be maintained.
What do we think about Bacxitium ourselves
We have promised our customers not to sell anything that has not been tested and examined. After several different tests with baxcitium, we can clearly say that our opinion is that baxcitium is a must in every pet first aid kit: Hypochlorous acid can be applied to sore and damaged skin to speed up the healing process. It is suitable for dogs, cats, small animals and birds, and can be used on all skin types and at all ages. The wound and skin care treatment system is completely harmless, non-irritating and the skin does not become sore. In addition, it does not contain alcohol, steroids or antibiotics. So it can be used safely in the eyes, mouth, nose and ears. And if your pet accidentally licks it or ingests the solution, there is no need to worry.
I actually even chose to try it myself and even worse I also tested it on my children. It worked great! My son had a wound under his nose that wouldn't heal because snot kept running into it so it became inflamed. After 2 days of use with only 1 spray a day, we could see a significant difference and now the wound has healed nicely. We use it here at home now every time some of us have a fight.
The first picture on the left is with infection, the second picture is a clean wound and the last picture is the scar after.
In addition, we have tested it on an operated tail, hotspot and wounds. We are currently testing it on a wound in the mouth of a cat.
The pictures seen here are the 1st day (left) and the 2nd day (right)
Hotspot (wet dermatitis) on a dog. The dog was only treated with Bacxitium.
Day 1 to day 7

A final word
Then, should the accident happen, Bacxitium is definitely a good acquaintance to have at hand. You would be able to start treatment on the spot and in some cases you would not have to go to the vet. But if you are in doubt, always remember to contact your vet.
